Our digital camera and video camera went out at the same time. We bought the Sony DSC-H3 to replace both of them. It's very user friendly, simple and high quality. I like the burst mode. It takes pictures kind of like a machine gun so in a group of 15 pictures, you are sure to get one that turns out great. It has a "low light" setting so you can get the best of your indoor pics. The video setting will take pretty high quality videos and will go as long as you have space on your memory card (bigger card=longer video). I love Sony cameras because they have excellent color quality (so I don't have to be a pro). I did a great deal of research to find the best value in a digital camera with descent video function (hard to find). It all depends on what you are looking for. If you ever want to look at mine, let me know :).

the nikon d60 is a great camera. i'd also get a 50mm 1.8 lens for it. GREAT for indoors. it's all autofocus, auto exposure, etc.
