With Claire and Tyler's school photo shoots this month, that reminded me that I was going to try to just take pictures of them at home (yes, I'm still a cheapskate). I guess I should iron the sheet next time... It was a good start though. Unfortunately, our camera is semi-broken. I was taking these while holding onto the cover at the same time, which was very hard since my right hand gets numb all the time (a pregnancy thing). Now our camera is coverless, but I guess still workable. It might be time to let it retire. Does anyone have a good camera suggestion? I want it to be able to take lots of pictures fast, but I don't want to have to deal with doing my own focusing, adjusting, whatever else photographers do. It would also be nice if indoor pictures turned out better.

the nikon d60 is a great camera. i'd also get a 50mm 1.8 lens for it. GREAT for indoors. it's all autofocus, auto exposure, etc.
check you out, with your mad photography skills. will you do my kids next? I'm so impressed- but I guess your kids are pretty darn cute to start with...
Phil wants the d90.
How could they not turn out beautiful, your children are so cute. Have a fun spring break!

Our digital camera and video camera went out at the same time. We bought the Sony DSC-H3 to replace both of them. It's very user friendly, simple and high quality. I like the burst mode. It takes pictures kind of like a machine gun so in a group of 15 pictures, you are sure to get one that turns out great. It has a "low light" setting so you can get the best of your indoor pics. The video setting will take pretty high quality videos and will go as long as you have space on your memory card (bigger card=longer video). I love Sony cameras because they have excellent color quality (so I don't have to be a pro). I did a great deal of research to find the best value in a digital camera with descent video function (hard to find). It all depends on what you are looking for. If you ever want to look at mine, let me know :).
You did a great job on your pictures! They're gorgeous!
If you need a 50mm 1.8 I have one sitting on my desk that hasn't been used in ages. I agree with Alissa that it's a fantastic indoor lens that won't let you down.
